Jet Does Damage Control
Nic Cester looks out for loose cannon little bro.

by Ellen Sawyer

Jet
DETROIT, MI  [Wednesday Mar.17.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Nic Cester, singer/guitarist of Australian band Jet is only two years older than his brother, Chris, but he understands the ways of the world a bit better. The band as a whole are on the loudmouth, who-cares-what-you-think, we'll-bloody-well-say-what-we-bloody-well-please tip, openly trashing other bands and proudly going unbathed for days at a time. Athough it's not the B.O. Nic's gotta run damage control for, it's little brother Chris's comments to the press.

Chris recently spoke out in a British magazine interview against rapper 50 Cent and techno artist Moby, which made Nic cringe. "I'm a bit older than Chris and a bit wiser for it," he says. He adds that having been out in the real world for a couple of years versus Chris's neat step from mommy and daddy to rock stardom has helped his perspective. "My life's a bit different from his. As soon as I finished school, I joined the work force and I tend to be a bit grateful for the position I'm in now. Chris worked, too -- but I had an extra two years of hating my life."
