Is Gwen Leaving No Doubt?
No way, says the singer.

by Ellen Sawyer

No Doubt
DETROIT, MI  [Wednesday Mar.3.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Gwen Stefani dismisses all rumors that she's quitting her band No Doubt to pursue a solo career. Although Gwen is recording a solo album, she insists the record is nothing more than a "side project." Bandmates are reportedly unthrilled by Gwen's solo album, but what can they do?

Gwen refuses to entertain the notion that her solo debut is anything more, saying "We're calling mine a side project, because I'm not going anywhere. It's taken me out of my comfort zone, but it's awesome to do what we want to do and step out of ourselves." Which could be an existential way of saying, "Adios, Amigos!" but we'll have to wait and see. Side note: Missy Elliot has agreed to perform on the album on an unnamed-as-yet track.
