BURBANK, CA [Monday Feb.9.2004] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Evanescence, the heavy rock band from Arkansas, was awarded the "Best New Artist" trophy at last night's Grammy awards.
They were picked over nominees 50 Cent, Fountains of Wayne, Heather Headley and Sean Paul.
They were also handed the "Best Hard Rock Performance" statue over Audioslave, Godsmack, Jane's Addiction and Queens of the Stone Age.
Though the Evanescence album,"Fallen", was nominated, the "Best Rock Album" award went to the Foo Fighters.
