Dido Decision: Duo!
Singer Receives Two Awards In Cannes

by Dean Cameron

Dido
BURBANK, CA  [Sunday Jan.25.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Dido was awarded two awards at the NRJ radio awards in Cannes, France this past weekend.

The British pop singer won best international female artist and international artist of the year at France's biggest music awards.

Accepting one of the awards she said "It's all a bit too good to be true. I've had a great time tonight."

The awards also featured two other popular singers, Madonna and the recently divorced Britney Spears, who performed her new single "Toxic" and then presented her kissy-kissy buddy, Madonna with an award commemorating her long and profitable career.

Nonsensical statements were uttered by Madonna and Christina Aquilera.

Madonna, upon receiving her award: "My ambition may be American, and I may have married a Brit, but my heart belongs to France."

Aguilera, regarding not participating in the kissyface with Madonna and Spears last year: "I would have been open and up for anything, but the music wouldn't allow it."

Maybe she's referring to that line in the Barry Manilow song: "I am music and I forbid you to kiss Madonna and Britney!"

Maybe not.
