BURBANK, CA  [Friday Jan.23.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Rockers Nickelback joke that the reason they're spending $120,000 on fireworks every week during their Canadian tour is simple: They want to stay warm.

"We're the only people dumb enough to go out in Canada in the wintertime and do a full tour." Laughs Guitarist Ryan Peake. "We've got the snow tires on and we're ready to battle as far as we can get.

"I think (the fireworks) started in our last Canadian tour, because we were so f***ing cold we needed some kind of warmth generated on stage.

"Hopefully it just enhances the show, until the pyro show becomes the star and we're taking it on the road and Nickelback is just the opening act."
