No Doubt Bassist Busy On Dates
Kanal Produces Three Songs For "50 First Dates"

by Dean Cameron

No Doubt
BURBANK, CA  [Sunday Jan.18.2004]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Tony Kanal, bassist for No Doubt, is taking the band's down time to produce three songs for the soundtrack for the next Adam Sandler movie "50 First Dates".

The soundtrack will feature songs popular in the 1980s all done in a reggae style, Kanal said.

The three tracks produced by Kanal were "Ghost in You", a Psychedelic Furs song redone with Mark McGrath singing. The Thompson Twins fave "Hold Me Now" sung by Wayne Wonder and Bryan Ferry's "Slave To Love" sung by Elan. Elan's album is, coincidentally, being produced by Kanal.

"50 First Dates" opens February 13th and the lead track from the soundtrack will be the Wayne Wonder version of "Hold Me Now".
