BURBANK, CA [Sunday Jan.18.2004] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Universal and Warner's Music Groups have joined up with Sprint PCS Vision's Music Tones business.
The two entertainment giants are making some of their artists' songs available for downloadable purchase as part of Sprint's Music Tones, which are a newfangled ring tones that are actual songs instead of simulations.

Other WMG acts will be Green Day, Seal and Jet, Sonny & Cher ("I Got You Babe"), the Spinners ("I'll Be Around, Grandmaster Flash ("White Lines") and Bobby Darin ("Mack the Knife").
Universal Music Group artists, Hoobastank and the ubiquitious Sheryl Crow will songs on the sprint service. Others will be Sting ("Send Your Love"), Black Eyed Peas ("Que Dices," "Fallin' Up"), Smash Mouth ("You Are My Number One") and Andrew W.K. ("It's Time to Party," "Party Hard").
Sprint has revealed sales of 20 million ringers and screensavers through PCS Vision last year. Hip-hop and R&B are the best selling genres for Universal Music Group's wireless phone ringers.
