Kid Rock Dropping the Rap?
NMC artist moving away from hip-hop style

by

LOS ANGELES, CA  [Thursday Nov.13.2003]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Fans popping in the new Kid Rock album have been surprised to find more country and rock sounds than they've heard from him in the past. In an interview with LAUNCH, Kid Rock admitted that he's falling away from the hard rock and hip-hop styles that have defined him in the past.

The reason? Simple musicality. "Melody and rhythm are my two favorite things, so with the rhythm of hip-hop, I love it, but melodically, you know, I couldn't see taking it too many more places," said the artist. His new 15-track album features appearances from many guest artists, among them Sheryl Crow and Hank Williams, Jr.
