LOS ANGELES, CA  [Thursday Aug.30.2007]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Britney Spears has been making some iffy decisions as of late, and here's another one to add to the growing list.

According to music producer Tricky Stewart, Brit turned down the chance to record what is now Rihanna's hit song "Umbrella."

Singer/songwriter Taio Cruz claims he heard the gossip from Stewart during a recording session. Cruz says, "I was working with Tricky in his studio the day he finished Umbrella. As soon as I heard it I said, 'That is a smash, I have to have it,' but he told me it was on hold for Britney."

"He waited but Britney's people never called him back."
