NASHVILLE, TN [Thursday Jul.26.2007] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Tim McGraw and Faith Hill were among the first celebrities to head to the Gulf Coast when Hurricane Katrina destroyed the coastal communities in each of their home states, Mississippi and Louisiana in 2005.
With plenty to still be done to restore the area Tim and Faith have promised to donate all the proceeds from a July 27th show this Friday in Biloxi, Mississippi. "It is a long term, continuing struggle for so many people in the region," said McGraw and Hill. "This year we are focusing attention on the needs of Mississippi." The Friday concert will be a benefit concert to assist organizations and individuals who are still in need of goods, services and finances due to the continued devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina. One hundred percent of the net concert proceeds will go to their Neighbors Keeper Foundation to support these efforts. Hill is from Star, Mississippi. MORE: Last year their McGraw and Hill's Neighbor's Keeper Foundation held a benefit concert in New Orleans, Louisiana, and marked the return of the concert industry to the city. As a result of the concert proceeds and other donations, Neighbor's Keeper Foundation has donated one million dollars directly to the Community Initiative Foundation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Community Initiative Foundation runs children and young adult art therapy programs at the Renaissance Camp, the largest trailer city in Baton Rouge.
