Live Earth Rio Almost Never Was
Lack of security puts concert in jeopardy

by Laura Katz

Lenny Kravitz
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL  [Monday Jul.9.2007]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- The Live Earth Rio concert was in serious danger of being nixed after a judge suspended the event due to insufficient police security.

However, the prosecutor's office got the judge to reconsider the decision, and the suspension was revoked.

Lenny Kravitz, Pharrell Williams and Macy Gray headlined the South American concert, the only one in the series which was made free and open to the public.

In other Live Earth news, a second U.S. leg was added for Washington, D.C., headlined by Garth Brooks and Tricia Yearwood.
