LOS ANGELES, CA [Wednesday Jun.27.2007] /Mix103FM.com/ -- The New York Post reports that all four major record labels (EMI, SonyBMG, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group) are on board to work with Qtrax, a free and legal music file-sharing service that's about to hit the market.
Qtrax follows in the footsteps of Downtown Records, home to Gnarls Barkley and Spank Rock. The label recently announced the launch of an online-only record imprint RCRD LBL that will feature free music, entirely supported by ads and sponsorship.
It is estimated that Qtrax will carry between 20 and 30 million copyrighted songs when it launches in October.
