Live Earth Slumping In Sales
Johnnesburg leg changes venue hoping to hike up the numbers

by Laura Katz

Joss Stone
JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA  [Wednesday Jun.27.2007]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- LiveEarth.org is hoping to spread the word on global warming this July 7th with a mass concert covering 7 continents.

However, ticket sales aren't as high as concert organizers hoped. Low numbers in Johannesburg has prompted a shift in venue, and the Istanbul leg has been nixed altogether, lacking support from local businesses.

The Johannesburg show will feature headliners Joss Stone and UB40.

In other Live Earth news, Taking Back Sunday has been added to the New York lineup, joining artists including Akon, AFI, Fall Out Boy, Alicia Keys, Kanye West, John Mayer and The Police.
