LOS ANGELES, CA [Friday Jun.15.2007] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Akon has made a musical apology to the important people in his life, including Gwen Stefani for dancing lewdly with an underage girl at a concert in Trinidad this past April.
Verizon pulled out as a sponsor from the Gwen Stefani/Akon tour as a result of the scandalous romp.
Akon has released a song called "Put The Blame On Me,"
In the intro, the star says: "I realize that everything I do is affecting the people around me. So I want to take this time out to apologize for things that I've done; things that haven't occurred yet; things they don't want to take responsibility for."
In the body of the song, Akon apologizes to Gwen for the trouble he's caused, saying "I'm sorry for the hand that [Gwen] was dealt / for the embarrassment that she felt / Just a little young girl trying to have fun / Daddy should've never let her out that young."
"Sorry for clubs and getting shut down / I hope they manage better next time around / How was I to know she was underage / In a 21-and-older club they say / Why doesn't anybody wanna take blame / Verizon backed out disgracing my name / I'm just a singer tryin' entertain / Cause I love my fans I'll take that blame."
At then end of the track, the star backpedals and sings, "Even though the blame's on you" over and over again. I guess he's not so sorry after all.
