LOS ANGELES, CA  [Tuesday Jun.12.2007]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way has fired back at Marilyn Manson, accusing him of self-promotion.

Manson recently accused MCR of copying his sound, calling them "sad" and "pitiful." But singer Gerard Way isn't taking him seriously, and thinks that the goth-rocker is just trying to promote his new record "Eat Me, Drink Me."

Way tells Rock Sound magazine, "If Elvis Costello said we sucked we would think about it a bit but usually it is comments from someone with a new record to promote so the remarks ring hollow. We still haven't found someone that has knocked us down that we need to take seriously."
