Green Day Keeps Cavallo As Producer
Rumors of a switch fall flat

by Laura Katz

Courtney Love
LOS ANGELES, CA  [Wednesday Jun.6.2007]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- According to a post on Buzznet.com, Courtney Love told the BBC that Linda Perry will be producing the new Green Day album.

Perry has worked with artists including Gwen Stefani, Pink and Christina Aguilera.

Love reportedly said, "This is my best record. Corgan's on it from the (Smashing) Pumpkins, and Linda Perry - who out of my record got the Green Day record. That's a scoop - I just gave that away with my big mouth."

However, according to an article on punkbands.com, Green Day's management says that it's simply not true. Rob Cavallo, who has been working with the bandsince "Dookie," is still signed on as producer.
