Jack Johnson Headlines Aussie Leg Of Live Earth
Star bases choice of city on the waves

by Laura Katz

Jack Johnson
HONOLULU, HI  [Thursday Apr.19.2007]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Contactmusic.com reports that Jack Johnson will be headlining the Australian leg of Live Earth, Al Gore's massive 7-city concert for the environment.

How did Johnson decide which leg of the event to play? The star explains, "New York and Australia are about the same distance for me, but Australia's waves are a lot better, so that made the decision easy."

The musician/surfer/activist has organized and is also headlining the Kokua Festival in Honolulu along with Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and Matt Costa. The concert will benefit the Kokua Hawai'i Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawai'i.
