LOS ANGELES, CA [Monday Jan.29.2007] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Snow Patrol drummer Jonny Quinn will be re-joining the band next month after breaking his arm snowbaording in the French Alps.
Quinn posted the following message on the band's website: "I thought it was time that someone from Snow Patrol learnt to snowboard, so I took myself off to Chamonix . However on the first day I tumbled down a hill and broke my elbow. Fortunately it is not a bad break and it looks like I will be set for Australia."
Snow Patrol has also announced that proceeds from their upcoming single "Open Your Eyes" will be donated to Save The Children's Rewrite The Future campaign, an organiztion dedicated to providing education to children from war-torn countries.
According to frontman Gary Lightbody, the band has been working with the charity since its inception. He said, "We have been supporting Save The Children's Rewrite The Future campaign since it launched last year. Over 40 million children living with the effects of conflict can't go to school. Yet education is the very thing that could keep them safe, give them and their countries hope, and transform their lives."
"The donation from this single will help but it is also about putting pressure on governments to open their eyes and their pockets and provide enough funding to make sure all children get a chance to go to school."
"Open Your Eyes" is set to drop February 12th.
