NASHVILLE, TN  [Wednesday Jan.3.2007]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- I case you haven't had enough backward glances at 2006, check out the current edition of Country Weekly (on stands 1/1) that includes some great nostalgia nouveau in pictures of newsworthy events from last year. The year in pictures issue includes a spectacular shot from one of Kenny Chesney's stadium shows, a glamorous portrait of Carrie Underwood and many more. One is a reminder of one of the greatest events of the year, Dolly Parton's tribute by the 29th Annual Kennedy Center honors that showed Dolly surrounded by some of the female stars that paid tribute to her on stage singing her songs, Alison Krauss, Shania Twain, Reba McEntire, Reese Witherspoon and, for collectors of odd events perhaps, it included Jessica Simpson beside Dolly. Jessica had a clothing mishap and professional breakdown when performing "9 to 5". She then re-taped her performance of the song, that was eventually dropped completely from the program when it aired.

This special section also replays of the biggest stories of 2006, including Keith Urban's wedding to actress Nicole Kidman, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's record-breaking Soul2Soul II Tour and George Strait's induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
