NASHVILLE, TN  [Tuesday Jan.2.2007]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Sportsradio.com repots that NFL star Tony Romo says he's dating Carrie Underwood. "Romo permanently put rumors he is secretly dating Jessica Simpson to rest by confirming he is actually dating country star Carrie Underwood," the site reports. So far Underwood hasn't officially confirmed the relationship.

The dotcom states that Romo and Underwood made their first appearance as a couple on Christmas day. "The former American Idol winner surprised sports fans with her appearance at the Texas Stadium, where she was seen hugging Romo on the field before his game against the Philadelphia Eagles."

Romo apparently confirmed the two were dating to the Journal Gazette/Times-Courier, a small paper in Charleston, Illinois, where he played college football. Sports editor Brian Neilsen says, "After I asked him all my usual football questions, I said, 'My wife really wants to know if the Jessica Simpson dating rumors are true.' "He laughed and replied, 'No. Tell her I'm dating Carrie Underwood.'"
