LOS ANGELES, CA  [Wednesday Nov.22.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Evanescence's new album, "The Open Door," has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The group has gone over the one million mark in U.S. sales in just five weeks, after selling almost a half million albums in the first week alone.

In more Evanescence news, the band is scheduled to appear on the "Late Show With David Letterman" Thursday December 14th.
