Move Over Sondheim, Here Comes My Chemical Romance
Band sets out to create musical
by Laura Katz

LOS ANGELES, CA [Tuesday Nov.7.2006] /Mix103FM.com/ -- My Chemical Romance is planning to create a theatrical work based on their latest release "The Black Parade."
The album deals with the story of a man who dies prematurely, and is said to be based partially on the band's singer Gerard Way. The frontman said, "I think ['The Black Parade'] needs to be something. If not a play then a musical. It's such a visual thing. I think it would make a great animated film, something experimental would really work for this."
The band has taken its cue from groups like Pink Floyd and more recently, Green Day, who's been whipping up movie treatments inspired by the song "American Idiot."
