LOS ANGELES, CA  [Wednesday Oct.25.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Tom Chaplin of Keane is fresh out of rehab, and is ready to make a brand new start.

The "Somewhere Only We Know" singer has been talking to the media about his battle with alcohol and cocaine, and recently spoke with BBC 6.

Chaplin said of entering rehab, "When your life become unmanageable, that's when you have to do something about it. You walk to the edge of the cliff and look into the abyss and either kind of jump off or turn around. Thankfully it was the latter."

He described the facility as being a serious place for those with serious problems, and not a "trendy health farm."

He said, "There are people in there, including myself, who do have a lot of problems. People who are dealing with life and death situations."

He acknowledges the difficult road that lays ahead, and saying that he's "Taking life as it comes."
