Keith Urban Enters Rehab
Singer fights battle with alcohol

by Neil Haislop

Keith Urban
NASHVILLE, TN  [Tuesday Oct.24.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Keith Urban's bouts with drugs and alcohol have never been a secret, he's openly talked about them throughout his career and now he's voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment rehabilitation center this weekend with his wife, Nicole Kidman, by his side.

Urban's relapse was unexpected and quite surprising to many, including the media, who had spoken with him very recently about his new album. Urban was in a great place, enjoying thoroughly the positive early feedback on his new Love, Pain and the whole crazy thing, CD. Not to mention his recent marriage and odds on favorite status to gather some new CMA Awards on November 6th, the day before his album bows.

In typical head on fashion Urban decided to break the news himself issuing this statement, "I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones that love and support me," said Keith. "One can never let ones guard down on recovery and I'm afraid that I have. With the strength and unwavering support I am blessed to have from my wife, family and friends, I am determined and resolved to a positive outcome." As a result of his treatment, all immediate appearances for his forthcoming CD will be postponed.
