NASHVILLE, TN  [Friday Sep.22.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- The American Music Awards nominees for 2006 were announced this week, and among the country categories, Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood each picked up two nominations. for two awards each at the 2006 American Music Awards.

The Country Nominations are:
Favorite Male Artist: Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Keith

Urban Favorite Female Artist: Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson

Favorite Band, Duo or Group: Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery
Gentry, Rascal Flatts

Favorite Album: Legend of Johnny Cash, Johnny Cash; Greatest Hits Volume 2, Tim McGraw; Me And My Gang, Rascal Flatts

In addition to her country nomination, Carrie Underwood picked up a nod for the all-genre Favorite New Breakout Artist Category. The AMA awards will be given out November 21st on ABC-TV.
