Kelly Clarkson Joins Congress
Pop star jams Against Illegal Downloads

by Laura Katz

Kelly Clarkson
WASHINGTON, D.C.  [Friday Sep.22.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Kelly Clarkson is serious about stopping illegal downloads, and she took her case all the way to Washington.

The "American Idol" winner joined members of Congress at a special event called "Grammys On The Hill," put on by the Recording Academy. Backed by the Congressional Grammy Band, Kelly was more than proud to front a jam session designed to show the public how much work goes into making a piece of music.

Kelly was made an honorary board member of the "What's The Download" campaign associated with the event. Other members include Kanye West, Common and Mark McGrath.
