SURREY, BRITISH COLUMBIA  [Tuesday Aug.29.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Chad Kroeger of Nickelback will plead 'not guilty' to drunk driving charges next month, when the case returns to Canadian court.

According to the CBC, his attorney intends to fight the charges, stating "Our position is clear he did not commit the offence."The singer was ordered to appear last Friday, but could not make it due to the band's present U.S. tour schedule, and had his lawyer go instead.

The original incident occurred two months ago when he was pulled over by police for suspicious driving.
