According to Def Jam Records, sales of the teen singer's latest CD "A Girl Like ME" have shot past the RIAA's platinum sales mark for US sales in excess of 1 million units.

"A Girl Like Me" is Rihanna's second album and contains the hit singles "S.O.S." and "Unfaithful."

"It has been amazing to see Rihanna mature into such a confident performer and personality in such a short time. This album shows her growth as an artist and as a professional. A Girl Like Me hitting the platinum mark is a prophecy fulfilled," stated Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, President and CEO of Def Jam Recordings.
