SURREY, BRITISH COLUMBIA  [Thursday Aug.3.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Chad Kroeger is due in court later this month to face drunk driving charges.

According to The Canadian Press, the Nickelback singer is being charged with drunk driving after being pulled over on June 22 in Surrey, British Columbia. Police officers stopped Kroeger's vehicle after they became suspicious of how the vehicle was being driven.

Kroeger is being charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level above .08.

Kroeger's lawyer, Marvin Stern, said in a statement that Kroeger "wishes to make it clear to all his fans that drinking and driving is something that should be avoided at all costs."
