Damon Albarn taps Danger Mouse, Paul Simonon for CD.

by Krista Desens

Gorillaz
LONDON, UK  [Monday Jul.31.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Damon Albarn, the music mastermind behind the Gorillaz, is working on a new project.

According to NME.com, the Blur frontman had been working with Gorillaz producer and Gnarls Barkley member Danger Mouse on a solo CD, but the two recently changed gears to work on a new album that will be called "The Good The Bad And The Queen," a concept album about London.

Albarn has formed a new band for the project that features bassist Paul Simonon of the iconic rock group The Clash, and Simon Tong, who played with the Verve, Blur, and the Gorillaz. Drummer Tony Allen rounds out the lineup of the band, which is rumored to also be called "The Good The Bad And The Queen."

The debut single from "The Good The Bad And The Queen" is planned for release in the UK this October, the same month Albarn's group makes its live debut at the BBC's Electric Proms season in London.

The full album should be out in early 2007.
