LOS ANGELES, CA [Friday Jul.21.2006] /Mix103FM.com/ -- "Wave Two" of voting for the 2006 Teen Choice awards is now underway, and Mary J. Blige, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Gnarls Barkley are among the artists receiving new nominations.
Mary J. Blige, who is already nominated for Choice Female Artist and Choice R&B Artist, received another nomination for Choice Love Song for her hit single "Be Without You." She faces competition from Nick Lachey, Lifehouse and newcomers Teddy Geiger, Ne-Yo, and James Blunt.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers scored a second nomination for Choice Rock Track for "Dani California." Anthony, Flea, John, and Chad are also nominated for Choice Rock Group. They'll need to beat Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Taking Back Sunday, The All-American Rejects, and The Fray to take home the coveted Teen Choice Surfboard trophy for Choice Rock Track.
And proving that everyone is "Crazy" about Gnarls Barkley, the soul duo of Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green picked up a nomination in the Choice Male Artist Breakout category (guess someone thought Gnarls was a solo artist). Gnarls may have a Teen Choice surfboard their future, but it will be a close call -- other nominees include Chris Brown, Daniel Powter, James Blunt, Ne-Yo and this year's American Idol winner Taylor Hicks.
The newly announced Choice Female Artist Breakout award could also be a toss up. The nominees include Anna Nalick, another American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee, LeToya, Natasha Bedingfield, and Rihanna.
If you're a teen ages 13 through 19, you can help decide who wins by casting your vote online. From now until Friday, Aug. 11, you can vote online at TeenPeople.com, MySpace.com, IGN.com and FOX.com. A third wave of nominees opens for voting July 27, so be sure to check back.
The Teen Choice 2006 awards show airs live on Sunday, August 20th, at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT on FOX.
