The Killers to release second album 'Sam's Town' Oct. 3.
LAS VEGAS, NV [Thursday Jul.20.2006] /Mix103FM.com/ -- The Killers are readying the follow-up to their smash debut "Hot Fuss."
The Las Vegas four-piece are calling their second album "Sam's Town," and have posted the album's first single "When You Were Young" on the
band's official website.
The name "Sam's Town" pays homage to the Killers' hometown of Las Vegas. In 1941, Sam Boyd arrived in the city with $80 in his pocket and began work as a card dealer. By the end of the 1960s, Boyd owned a casino and, in 1975, he opened
Sam's Town, a casino on Las Vegas' Boulder Strip catering to locals. It's still open to this day.
The Killers' "Sam's Town" is set for release October 3.
