BALTIMORE, MD  [Tuesday Jul.18.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- The first-ever Virgin Festival is headed to the United States this September.

MTV.com reports that the multi-act festival takes place September 23 at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland and will feature the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Keane, Gnarls Barkley, the Raconteurs, the Killers, Flaming Lips, Scissor Sisters, Wolfmother, and rock legends The Who.

Also performing at the all-day music festival are Thievery Corporation, Kasabian, New Pornographers, Drive-By-Truckers, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and Brazilian Girls. There will also be a DJ tent featuring sets by John Digweed, Carl Cox, and more.

The inaugural Virgin Fest is the counterpart to the popular V Festival, held annually in the UK. Approximately 60,000 people are expected to attend the festival in Baltimore.
