BIRMINGHAM, AL  [Thursday Jul.13.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Do you have what it takes to be the next Kelly, Ruben, Fantasia, Carrie or Taylor?

If so, come on down to American Idol's Season 6 auditions, which will be held in Los Angeles, San Antonio, New York, Birmingham, Memphis, Minneapolis and Seattle starting in August.

Men and women aged 16 to 28-years-old and eligible to work in the United States are welcome to audition.

Auditions get underway in Los Angeles on August 8, San Antonio on August 11, New York on August 14, Birmingham on August 21, Memphis on September 3, Minneapolis on September 8, and Seattle on September 19.

This is American Idol's first time holding auditions in Birmingham, but producers decided to visit the city because Taylor Hicks, Ruben Studdard and Bo Bice all come from there.
