BET Awards on June 27 to feature star-studded line-up.
LOS ANGELES, CA [Tuesday Jun.27.2006] /Mix103FM.com/ -- The 2006 BET Awards -- one of urban music's biggest events -- takes place live from Los Angeles tonight, June 27th.
Among the artists who will perform during the televised event are Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Prince, Busta Rhymes, Ne-Yo, T.I., Chris Brown, Jamie Foxx, Chaka Khan, Keyshia Cole, Mary Mary, host Damon Wayans, and many more.
Beyonce will kick off the BET Awards with the world premiere of her new song "Déjà vu." Prince will close the festivities with a not-to-be-missed performance.
Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes and Jamie Foxx lead the 2006 BET Awards with four nominations each.
The 2006 BET Awards show airs live from Los Angeles on Tuesday, June 27th, at 8:00 pm ET/PT. Fans are invited to log on to BET.com during the telecast to vote for the Viewers Choice category.

Mary J. Blige's nominations include: Best Female R&B Artist, Best Duet/Collaboration (with Busta Rhymes) and two nods for Video of the Year. Missy Elliott received two nominations for Video of the Year and nods for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist and Best Duet/Collaboration (with Busta Rhymes).
Busta Rhymes earned nods for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Best Duet and Video of the Year and is up for the Viewer's Choice Award. Jamie Foxx is nominated for Best Male R&B Artist, Best Duet/collaboration (with Kanye West), Best Actor and Video of the Year (with Kanye West).
Other artists receiving multiple nominations include: Kanye West, Ne-Yo and Chris Brown each with three; Anthony Hamilton, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Ciara, Keyshia Cole, Lloyd Banks, Mariah Carey, Mary Mary, Papoose, Rah Digga, Slim Thug and T.I. each scored two apiece.
During the BET Awards show, R&B icon Chaka Khan will receive the BET Lifetime Achievement Award and actor/singer/activist Harry Belafonte will be honored with the BET Humanitarian Award.
