Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante is helping out the Mars Volta with their new album.

RollingStone.com reports that Frusciante will make a guest appearance on the band's forthcoming record, "Amputechture."

This isn't the first time Frusciante has worked with the Mars Volta. Mars Volta guitarist Omar Rodriguez guests on the Red Hot Chili Peppers' new album "Stadium Arcadium." Rodriguez plays the guitar solo on the track "Especially In Michigan."

A release date for the Mars Volta album will be announced soon, so stay tuned.
