LOS ANGELES, CA  [Wednesday May.10.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Christina Aguilera and AFI will take the stage during this year's MTV Movie Awards.

Earlier this week, MTV announced that Aguilera and AFI would each perform at the awards show, which honors favorite movie moments from the past year.

Aguilera plans to give a "sneak peak" of music from her forthcoming album, "Back To Basics," which is scheduled for release in August.

Also set to take the stage are punk/glam rockers AFI, who will perform the song "Miss Murder," from their new album, "Decemberunderground," in stores June 6th.

Among the stars helping to hand out the Golden Popcorn statues at the MTV Movie Awards are Ludacris, T.I., Justin Timberlake, Will Ferrell, Kate Hudson, Kate Beckinsale, Owen Wilson, Matt Dillon, and Rebecca Romijn.

MTV will announce additional presenters and performers over the next couple of weeks.
