Dixie Chicks may have better chance with second single.
NASHVILLE, TN [Monday Apr.24.2006] /Mix103FM.com/ -- Given the fact that many radio stations will not play the Dixie Chicks single "Not Ready to Make Nice," The Tennessean reports their new single might have a better shot at radio.
The paper asked R&R country editor, Lon Helton, his opinion of the situation.
"What I'm hearing from (radio station) music directors: What this (first) single did was bring back all the old baggage, and it wasn't necessary to do," said Helton.
In spite of the bumpy start that could remain bumpy for the Chicks, Helton also said there is music on the new album that more people in radio are expected to support.
"The program directors heard the album and told me, 'There's four or five major smashes we can play,' " Lon said.
We'll see as the new single, "Everybody Knows," steps on stage.
