NEW YORK, NY  [Monday Apr.3.2006]  /Mix103FM.com/ -- Mariah Carey has wanted to make a Broadway Christmas musical for a couple years now, and it looks like her plan is moving forward at last.

The "Don't Forget About Us" singer told MTV Radio that "a very big company" has just signed on to develop the project with her. Carey plans to create, produce and star in the holiday musical, which will likely feature songs from her "Merry Christmas" album and maybe some new material.

Mariah also said that before the musical hits Broadway, it will probably be made into a movie first. "So the [TV movie] will set the stage for the stage," she explained.
